HWDO Delivers 1.4 Million Liters of Clean Water in 12 Days

When floods damaged the main water channels in Danyore, Gilgit Baltistan, thousands of families were left without access to clean drinking water. In response, Hamdardi Welfare and Development Organization (HWDO) launched a rapid water supply campaign to ensure no household was left behind.

A Massive Relief Effort

For the past 12 days, HWDO has been delivering an average of 120,000 liters of clean water every single day. Families received water directly at their doorsteps, reducing the need to walk long distances in search of safe drinking water.

The numbers speak for themselves:

  • Daily Supply: 120,000 liters
  • Duration: 12 consecutive days
  • Total Supply: 1,440,000 liters (1.4 million liters) of clean water

This emergency response has been one of the largest water supply operations ever carried out in the area.

Behind the Scenes: Volunteers in Action

This massive effort was made possible by HWDO’s dedicated volunteers, drivers, and community members who worked around the clock. Tankers were filled, routes were organized, and water was delivered from morning till evening every day.

The Road Ahead

While this emergency operation has brought temporary relief, the long-term challenge remains: rebuilding the damaged water channels of Danyore and creating sustainable solutions for future crises. HWDO is committed to standing with the community and working with donors and partners to make water security a reality.
